Welcome to Kindergarten

We had a joyful and exciting FIRST DAY OF KINDERGARTEN!

We enjoyed reading 'The Kissing Hand', by Audrey Penn.

The story of Chester the Raccoon...

...who felt nervous about his first day of school.

But in the end, he remembered how much his family loved him...

...and he was excited and happy to go off to school.

We talked about our 'first day feelings' and made many connections to this story. We felt both nervous and excited to start school.

We created our own Chesters to take home to celebrate the first day of school.

We also enjoyed Explore time. This is a free choice time, where we engage with friends...

...play with various materials...

...create...

...problem solve...

...and build friendships.

We also worked with some math tools. Unifix cubes are great for building, counting, and sorting.

We also made patterns.

Polydrons are always super fun to work with. We can build flat creations as well as three dimensional creations.

Pattern blocks are wonderful to work with too.

There are endless possibilities when working with pattern blocks.

We had lovely weather and were able to squeeze some extra outdoor time.

Sliding...

...climbing...

...balancing...

...teamwork....

We were excited to attend our first School Wide Assembly.

WELCOME TO CCS!

We had a busy and FUN first few days of kindergarten. Please stay tuned for all the adventures and learning we have ahead of us in kindergarten!
