We have enjoyed a variety of Thanksgiving books to prepare for a wonderful Thanksgiving break.

Thanksgiving cards.

Our class filled the entire jar full of pennies (good deeds). We took a class walk down to the school container and celebrated all of our positive accomplishments by adding our pennies to the whole school jar.

It was a proud moment!

We are wild for words!

Week of November 6

This month our calendar markers revolve around two and three dimensional shapes.

Working on iPads to extend the idea of geoboards.

Working with number racks: children pick a numeral card and build that amount on their number racks. Then the numeral is written in the recording sheet.

The compare and contrast game: a partner game where children roll a die (or two) and compare the amount. They circle the number that has "more" for the first round, and then circle the number that is "less" in the second round. This game also requires children to practice numeral writing.

Fundations letters of the week.

Shape detectives.
