Week of November 26

Children are using shapes to build houses. We are enjoying our snow village art.

A friendly reminder ❄️❄️❄️

Writing practice.

We can write "the kindergarten way".

Our very first Tech Time lesson with Mr. Miller! "A QR code is how computers read."

We practiced accessing the Seesaw sight.

This is a platform that we are learning to use so that we can share our work.

We learned how to take a picture.

We also learned how to write.

Math and literacy work embedded in our morning message.

b/d practice.

Writing prompt work.

We can use snap words to build complete sentences; we can make illustrations that match our words.

Week of November 12

Four Winds: conifer trees. We learned about Hemlocks, cedars, firs, spruce, pines. They all have needles and cones.

Math Highlights
We are becoming teen number experts in kindergarten! We can represent teen numbers as a group of ten and some more ones with ten frames, tally sticks, scattered objects and our math hands. We are learning how to represent the part-part-whole relationship of addition with objects and written equations. The children are working hard at justifying their math thinking as they work with partners and share in front of the class. We continue to practice naming numerals, ordering numerals, and counting forwards and backwards.

Math Game "one more"

Mathematicians roll a die, and add 1 more.

+1 is the same as thinking about he number that comes JUST AFTER a number, which we have worked on a lot!

2+1=3

4+1=5. Mathematicians color the number on the game board.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING! It is a privilege and joy to work with you and your children!
