The letters of this week's FUNdatons work are -q- and -z-.

We are working really hard to "write the kindergarten way" so that our writing is easy to read.

Feeling super proud!

I love picking just the right books to inspire our monthly portraits. This is a new book in our CCS library. It highlights how we are all different but also the same.

As part of our morning ease-in time, I offer a question and students use the white board materials to write a full sentence.

We have a variety of tools in our classroom to support excellent kindergarten writing and it is exciting to see kindergarten writers doing their very best!

Happy Winter!

The day before winter vacation, we had 8th grade buddies join us.

We made loads of connections, wrote them down....

...and linked them together.

With some serious team work...

..we created a chain the length of our hallway that shows how many things kindergarten kids share in common with our 8th grade friends.
