May

Our May calendar markers are all about math story problems.

Core math ideas of many math recent math lessons.

Playing the math partner game "cross out fifty".

This game is a great (and fun) way to practice numeral identification of numbers 1-50.

Partners count the total amount of numerals they crossed out and write a greater/less than statement.

We are collecting important vocabulary words as we read information texts about seeds, plants and gardening.

We have a collection of seed, planting and gardening books.

And are learning about the parts of seeds, plants, and the plant life cycle.

Mathematicians can draw pictures to solve math problems.

Kindergarten mathematicians realized this is an addition am problem...

A mathematician explaining her thinking.
