The big idea in Writer's Workshop: we are writing true stories with a beginning, middle and end. We are also working hard to make the reader feel like she was really truly there-one way to do this is to include who was in the story, where it took place, and what was happening. 

We have been 'collecting' weather words for a weather word wall. We use this chart to help our science journal work.

Week of November 27

Meteorologists often use weather symbols to collect data about the weather.

We looked at lots of weather pictures and used weather words to describe what weather conditions we saw.

Tallies help organize our counting. We can count on from 5!

We have been exploring tally marks and how they make our counting more efficient.

We have enjoyed a variety of Thanksgiving books to prepare for a wonderful Thanksgiving break.

Thanksgiving cards.

Our class filled the entire jar full of pennies (good deeds). We took a class walk down to the school container and celebrated all of our positive accomplishments by adding our pennies to the whole school jar.

It was a proud moment!

We are wild for words!
